Alex Cameron Design. Critical writing on design, visual culture and society

Throughout my professional life it was apparent that design ideas, at the level of the design leadership, commentariat and the academy, were increasingly ideologically-driven. This has reached fever-pitch in the last decade. I believe this is antithetical to the historic role of design -- giving form to ideas, thus enlivening them --  but worse and most damagingly it is contemptuous to designs ultimate audience, people.

The articles and essays you will find here aim to highlight the shifts in the contemporary design landscape, through critique and review, by positioning people, as active participants, front and centre. It is a revealing lens and one that is more vital than ever.
